The Minnesota legislative session wrapped up, concluding the second year of the biennial budget cycle. Minnesota Business Partnership CEO Kurt Zellers says most major budget items were approved last year, making this session largely focused on policy and infrastructure. Zellers says several anti-business proposals failed to advance. “The Senate had a lot of ideas on a lot of environmental things that, thankfully, because of the divided House, did not pass.” The agriculture bill was one casualty during the session with a disagreement over paraquat language. “There were those that don’t have the experience or the knowledge got their opinion in there and unfortunately, it got shut down.”
