Soybean futures turned sharply lower following comments from Trump Administration officials suggesting soybeans had already been addressed in earlier agreements with China. StoneX Chief Commodities Economist Arlan Suderman said computerized trading algorithms interpreted the news as bearish for soybeans, triggering heavy selling in thin overnight trade. “The algos read that headline and said, ‘no soybeans, that’s bearish,” Suderman told RRFN. “Momentum trading algos pick up that momentum to the downside, adding more sell orders.” Suderman emphasized little had changed fundamentally in the market.
