For the first time in nine months, North Dakota is experiencing moderate drought. The U.S. Drought Monitor indicates that McKenzie and Golden Valley counties on the Montana border are experiencing moderate drought conditions. Abnormally dry conditions can be found in far northwest and west-central North Dakota. Droughty conditions remain unchanged from last week in South Dakota, with 72 percent of the state in some level of abnormally dry or drought conditions. In Minnesota, there was a small improvement, but 30 percent of the state remains dry or in drought.
