Global food prices are at their highest level in more than three years. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Food Price Index rose for the third straight month in April. Vegetable oil prices increased six percent from the previous month with soybean sunflower, canola and palm oil prices are pushing higher. Cereal prices are up less than one percent from the previous month. Meat values rose 1.2 percent in April, reaching a new record high. Global sugar values dropped nearly five percent.
