Farmers in Northwest Minnesota have started scratching at the dirt. Pioneer Seeds Field Agronomist Kevin Sinner says that most farmers are still waiting on the weather to warm up, while a few managed to get some early planting in. “So far there’s been a few renegade guys that have gone out and there’s a couple beans in the ground and a couple corn fields that got planted last week before the rain. But for the most part guys kind of held off.” Sinner places that didn’t receive rain recently are still dealing with colder temperatures. “At this point there’s not a lot of guys going yet. Even though they didn’t get rain up north, it was a little cooler, frost still coming out, fields are still wet, so there’s not much happening right at the moment.”
