An Ohio firm called Idealist Innovation has announced the creation of the Center for American Food Power. This new ‘think tank’ will focus on ways to align the U.S. farm and food policy with national security priorities. The initial council members reads like a list of who’s who in American agriculture. They include Ray Starling, the former chief of staff for Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue; former ag trade ambassador and current president and CEO of the National Milk Producers Federation Gregg Doud; former deputy secretary of agriculture and CEO for the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives and South Dakota Commissioner of Economic Development Bill Even. CFAP founder and Idealyst Innovation CEO is Brett Sciotto, who was CEO of Aimpoint Research.
