NAU Country’s Vice President of Farm Services Rich Morrison says changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill delivered meaningful improvements to crop insurance and risk management tools. The subsidy levels for the Supplemental Coverage Option, Enhanced Coverage Option and Margin Coverage Option were increased, making coverage more affordable for farmers. “This is the one input price that’s gone down this year,” said Morrison. “I know everybody is talking about fertilizer and chemicals, and the prices continue to rise. The crop insurance side of it is one area where guys will save a little money this year, so that’s a good thing.” Morrison encourages farmers to stay informed about PLC and ARC County programs, saying the updated support levels can help secure income and improve financial stability heading into the growing season
