The U.S. decision to remove references to pulses and agricultural purchases from an updated India-U.S. trade framework is raising concerns among American pulse growers. “Removing these references to certain pulses and other agricultural purchases has created some uncertainty in the global markets,” said Tim McGreevy, chief executive officer, USA Puses. “Our industry really needs really clear and consistent communication from both governments.” He adds that predictable trade rules and tariff policies are critical for market access, investment decisions, and long-term stability for U.S. pulse farmers.
