North Dakota State University Extension is out with its short and long-term price projections. NDSU Extension Farm Economist Ron Haugen said this information can be used to prepare annual enterprise budgets and annual whole-farm cash flow projections. The crop price forecast is lower than a year ago with corn at $3.75 per bushel, soybeans at $9.75 and spring wheat at $5.75. For specialty crops, the planning price is $20 per hundredweight for canola, oil-type sunflowers at $21 per hundredweight and dry beans at $27. In the livestock sector, NDSU Extension is forecasting the price for 400-to 500-pound beef steers at $450 per hundredweight. Cull cows are at $155 and 60-to-90 pound feeder lambs at $260 per hundredweight.
