U.S. agricultural exports shifted notably in 2025, with diversification of export destinations playing a larger role in both the corn and soybean markets. According to Purdue University’s Center for Commercial Agriculture, the most significant change in soybean exports from 2024 to 2025 has been a broader mix of destination markets. While 2025 soybean exports are running below 2024 levels and are not expected to match last year’s total even with November and December data included, diversification has helped limit what could have been a much steeper decline. In corn, reduced purchases from major buyers such as Mexico, Japan, and Colombia have been offset by sales to other markets, pushing total exports above 2024 levels despite data only running through early November.
