CHS board member Hal Clemensen, who leads the cooperative’s government relations committee, says Washington can do something right now to build demand for U.S commodities. “We would sure like to see E15 year-round; we’ve been working on that for years and years and that would be a huge benefit.” Clemensen, who farms in the Aberdeen area, wants more domestic demand. “We’re gonna have to look at other sources, like soy diesel, soy crush, SAF, I think that will be more sustainable for U.S. farmers than exports because exports are so politically affected.”
