The Supreme Court has granted the Trump Administration’s emergency request to withhold $4 billion in foreign aid previously approved by Congress. The temporary order stops a lower court decision to require the federal government to spend the money before September 30th when the fiscal year ends. The money was for humanitarian foreign assistance programs through the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development, which was shut down soon after President Trump took office.
