President Trump will meet with congressional leaders today in a last-minute attempt to reach a compromise on a funding bill. Without action, a partial government shutdown takes effect at 12:01 Wednesday morning. The House passed a continuing resolution last week to fund the government for another seven weeks. The Senate fell seven votes short of the 60 necessary to pass the same legislation last week and is expected to try again this afternoon.
