North Dakota has confirmed its first tar spot case of 2025. The disease was detected earlier this month and has since been found in four fields across Richland and Cass counties. Most of the cases showed very low incidence and severity, but one field had evidence of the pathogen overwintering, with lesions reaching up to ten percent severity on a single leaf.
