When RRFN spoke with St. Thomas, North Dakota farmer Brent Baldwin Tuesday, he was back in his sugar beet fields after weekend rains. “It made digging conditions a little bit tough on Monday morning, but I’m not going to lie, it probably made it better overall because we were getting dry. We’ve been drier up here all year.” Combines have also been rolling in soybeans. “Nothing more than an average crop, a little bit disappointing. You’ve got some disease problems with some mold, and some small beans just never filled out.”
