Cooler September temperatures slowed crop development in west central Minnesota. Peterson Farms agronomist Rick Swenson says soybeans haven’t advanced as quickly as expected. “Slowing things down a little bit, just from what I’ve seen,” said Swenson. “Some of the soybeans especially showed some age here two weeks ago, and they really haven’t changed a lot since, which kind of surprised me, but with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, I guess it’s to be expected.” GDU accumulation slowed during the recent cool weather. “At the same time, we should be having some really nice grain fill.”
