At Mandan, Dennis Renner says his wheat yields have varied, but quality is holding up. Renner expects the small grain harvest to wrap up within the week, with canola, soybeans, sunflowers and corn still ahead. “There’s been yields as high as 50 to 60 bushels (per acre) on some of the durum, and it looks like it’s in good quality,” said Renner. “We’ve had a lot of rain and humidity that held up harvest, so it’s been an unusual harvest season.”
