The Chinese ambassador to the United States is warning that U.S. protectionism is hurting American farmers. In a speech to members of the U.S. Soybean Export Council in Washington, D.C., Xie Feng said U.S. farmers should not be made to pay the price of a trade war. Historically, China represents 60 percent of all U.S. soybean exports. However, China has not booked any new crop soybeans from the U.S. this year.
