The Risk Management Agency is implementing the crop insurance adjustments made in the One Big Beautiful Bill. RMA Administrator Pat Swanson said all crop insurance with the underlying revenue protection policy will get an additional three to five percent of premium support. “We’re estimating that’s going to be about $400 million that farmers are going to be able to keep in their pockets instead of spending on premiums,” said Swanson. “We are also expanding the whole farm coverage from 85 percent to 90 percent.” North Dakota Senator John Hoeven was a driving force behind the enhancements to crop insurance. The update also includes increased support for beginning farmers during their first ten years in business.
