When asked about crop conditions in the southern Red River Valley, Channel Seed Technical Agronomist Derek Crompton said it is like asking which of your kids is your favorite. “In a year like this, it comes down to the best pieces of ground that have good drainage look the best, and the ground that has the poorest drainage, with the timing of some weather events, looks a little bit rough.” With excess or even adequate moisture this year, Crompton is seeing a promising corn and soybean crop if there is good drainage.
