Worthington area farmer Bill Gordon says the crop is in excellent shape this year. Gordon has just started on wheat and is preparing for the third cutting of alfalfa. “Everything’s growing gangbusters here right now. Soybeans, corn, just green, no yellowing. We’ve had plenty of moisture, but not too much.” Gordon notes that this season is a stark contrast to last year. “After last year, we were raising the worst crop we’ve ever had around here because of excess rain and then drought. This is going to be a decent year, just wish the prices were a little higher. There’s going to be a lot of product in southern Minnesota.”
