Grafton, North Dakota farmer Tom Campbell says the steady rains and favorable weather this season are setting the stage for a terrific harvest. “It looks like overall there’ll be a nice big crop coming on everything everywhere.” The early wheat harvest reports suggest good yields despite wetter grain and scattered showers slowing progress. Campbell says crews are carefully working around the rain to keep operations moving. In addition to being a partner in Campbell Farms, Tom wears another hat, serving as the USDA state director for rural development.
