Hefty Seed Agronomist Glenn Herz said the Ag PhD Field Day offers more than just education it offers perspective. “We’ve got a lot of different crops out here that even normally we don’t grow around Baltic,” said Herz. “We’re just trying to give people a different look.” Herz also emphasized the importance of late-season vigilance, particularly in soybeans. “There is such a good crop out there and the price is being down a little bit, you’re going to want as many bushels as you can get,” he said. “Scouting is key, especially with conditions ripe for issues like white mold.”
