Innovation was front and center at the Ag PhD Field Day. Hefty Seed Company Senior Agronomist Rob Fritz said the event is more than just a showcase, it’s a connection point between farmers and cutting-edge ag tech. “There’s a company that’s got robots that does automated nitrogen management,” said Fritz. “I’ve seen a lot of changes in my lifetime, but to have that kind of stuff showing up here, that technology is crazy. We’ve reached a new era in ag and we’re on the leading edge of it.” The event offered direct access to company leaders and new tools for the farm. “This isn’t just a farm show,” said Fritz. “This is about learning, meeting people you would never meet, and talking about things you would never talk about. We’re attracting CEOs of companies, and they’re realizing this is where everybody is.”
