In the Minot area, BASF Business Representative Jordan Dilse is optimistic about the canola crop. “The late rains and foggy mornings are really going to help the canola crop fill this year.” There has been some heat stress, resulting in some aborted pods. With harvest fast approaching, Dilse recommends the use of a harvest aid, like Sharpen. “The whole reason I would look at it desiccant is to be able to get your crop to ripen evenly because we all know when part of it’s ready and other parts are not up and rearing to go,” said Dilse. “We all know about the great white combine; the only safe spot is in the bin so getting out as early as you can to cut will help get your crop in the bin and keep it safe.”
