Spring wheat fields in North Dakota are showing minimal signs of disease, giving farmers and researchers a reason to be optimistic. During the Langdon Research Extension Center’s field day, NDSU Plant Pathologist Andrew Friskop said the crop is in great shape so far. “Yeah, right now it’s a pretty clean-looking crop, which is great news for us,” said Friskop. “Although we were thinking in June that there was plenty of moisture, I think it helped the crop more than the diseases out there. And that’s a win for us.” Friskop credits timely decision-making by farmers for the current crop health.
