In Minnesota, this year’s planted acreage totals 8.5 million acres for corn and 7 million acres for soybeans. Corn and soybean acreage are both down 400,000 acres from last year. Spring wheat totals 1.2 million acres, down slightly from 2024. Minnesota has 425,000 acres of sugarbeets, 340,000 acres of dry edible beans and 115,000 acres of canola. The beet acreage is up 14,000 acres from last year; dry edible bean acreage rose 60,000 acres and canola increased 5,000 acres. Minnesota sunflower acreage more than doubled this year, totaling 65,000 acres.
