The rate for shipping grain from the U.S. Gulf to Japan has dropped to its lowest level in 16 months. An international shipping publication, Lloyd’s List, blames a weak global economy, especially with China. There is also an oversupply of Panamax ships. Shipping rates are also expected to be pressured in 2025.
