Emerging Issues Dominate Ag Committee’s Time

Minnesota House Agriculture Committee Chair Samantha Vang says a large focus of her committee this session was on emerging issues, such as groundwater protection and avian influenza. Groundwater issues in the Kast Region of southeastern Minnesota dominated the Ag Committee action. Vang told the Red River Farm Network it has been a very different session. “Last year was definitely one of the most gratifying and satisfying sessions since being elected because we got a lot of work done and we got historic funding in the agriculture bill so I guess it’s hard to compare to last year.”
