The Kansas wheat tour wrapped up with a production estimate of 290 million bushels on an average yield of about 46 bushels per acre. Wheat Quality Council Executive Vice President Dave Green says the wheat crop was better than expected. “That’s the #1 thing; we had heard from people that were out here and the crop is better than what was reported to us,” said Green. “I think we were led to believe this was better than last year, but a below-average crop and I don’t think that’s true.”
