Wisconsin has become the ninth state to join the list of Farm Rescue states. “Our first year we helped ten farmers. Last June, we had the honor of assisting our 1,000th family since our beginning,” said Farm Rescue Executive Director Tim Sullivan about the nineteen-year efforts of Farm Rescue. But none of those families would have seen that assistance without the work of volunteers, whom Sullivan is quick to recognize. “We have over 650 volunteers in our registry. In a normal year, which would be anywhere from 80 to 120 families served, we’re probably utilizing 200 to 225 volunteers in a year.” Farm Rescue will start putting harvest plans in place for Wisconsin after July 1.
