A Russian government spokeman told reporters its involvement in the grain deal has been “terminated.” However, Russia will rejoin the agreement if its demands over grain and fertilizer shipments are are met. Unsuccessful negotiations over the possible renewal of the Black Sea Grain Initiative took place earlier today in Istanbul, Turkey. This deal was originally put together with the help of Turkey and the United Nations in July of 2022. In the overnight electronic trade, grain and oilseed futures were higher due to the uncertainty in this region.
