The University of Minnesota Small Grain Summer Plot Tours continue through northwest Minnesota this week. Extension Small Grains Specialist Jochum Wiersma says these tours will give farmers a chance to see current and new varieties. “It’s one thing to talk about the varieties in the winter, but it’s another thing to actually see what they look like in the field.” There are over 60 entries in the variety trials at each location. Wiersma will also address issues growers are facing this growing season.
