Indecision remains in the new year as trying to decide what to plant in the spring. Based in Anamoose, North Dakota, Peterson Farms Seed’s Paul Bromley tells the Red River Farm Network there are many unknowns. “Farmers are wondering what they should do on last year’s soybean ground. Soybean and canola prices are good and that side of the rotation is good, but there’s indecision on cereals like spring wheat, durum and barley.” Farmers may stick close to their rotations or swap out crops. “Broadleaves may be swapped for sunflowers. Then, some farmers had been out of corn for awhile, but now corn yields have come back. From the growers I’ve talked to, that’s the indecisiveness.” Bromley attended the KMOT Ag Expo in Minot this past week.
