Thin trading volume during Christmas and New Years allowed the market to chop sideways with volatile swings on both sides of the market. S&W Trading market analyst Andy Shissler says Argentina’s weather will be the next driver for the soybean market. “It’s not often we have corn market highs in January, but usually we hit soybean highs in January. If Argentina has a weather or crop problem. that’s enough to move the markets.” There is plenty of upside potential, but weather will determine the direction. “Will it happen? I don’t know. This is just scratching the surface of what we could do.”
