This past week’s rain brought the combines to a stop, but Pioneer agronomist J.J. Jaehnning says the soil moisture rechange was welcomed. “Going into next year, I think guys are a little more hopeful,” said Jaehnning. “Even with the rains, the soil profile was so dry that a lot of these tile lines didn’t turn on after two-to-three inches of rain.” The supply chain challenges, Jaehnning says decisions are being made for next year’s crop. “It is always better in this kind of scenario to get certain things locked in, whether it is seed, fertilizer or chemical.” The first deadline for Pioneer’s early order discounts are coming up at the end of the month.Here’s the full interview with Jaehnning.
