Sugarbeet growers in the Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative growing area got a late start to the full harvest, due to the warmer than usual conditions. Wyndmere farmer Carson Klosterman started lifting sugarbeets last Monday. “We harvested sugarbeets on lighter ground and it’s been going well.” Klosterman says the tonnage is expected to get better with the recent rains and extended harvest. “We will give up sugar content with the rain. It would be nice for the rain to stop. I think everyone is glad for the current tonnage.”
