Dry conditions are lingering across the United States. According to USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey, “there’s 50 percent of the country reporting short to very short topsoil moisture as of September 19.” Pasture and rangeland conditions are also declining. “The current ratings for poor to very poor is at 46 percent, an increase of four percentage points from the previous week.”
