According to the NDSU Crop and Pest Report, crop scouts found grasshopper nymphs in about half of the barley, wheat and soybean fields surveyed this past week. Populations are still below the economic threshold for treatment. There are also low levels of cereal aphids in wheat and barley. Scouting should continue for cereal aphids for the next month or until the crop moves past the heading stage.
