The sudden change from cold to hot weather and the application of herbicides has resulted in some unusual crop responses that often mimic leaf spotting diseases. University of Minnesota Small Grains Specialist Jochum Wiersma says the increase in dew points in the forecast will increase the risk of disease development only slightly and only in areas with significant rain in recent weeks or under irrigation.
