EPA’s Office of the Inspector General has determined senior agency officials knowingly mishandled the 2018 approval of FeXapan, XtendiMax and Engenia. The OIG report says internal scientific reviews of the new dicamba formulations were blocked. It also claims scientific documents were manipulated. Decisions were apparently made without regard to the standards for scientific integrity by political appointees. Changes are being recommended in the review process for pesticide registrations in the future.
