A dry, open fall allowed farmers in east-central North Dakota to finish harvest earlier-than-normal and deal with fall fieldwork. Eddy County Extension Agent Chandy Howard says the dry conditions are a concern. “The livestock guys are also dealing with it. Most of them have had to move to fall grazing or even home earlier than in previous years.” On the positive side, Howard says the weather has been good for the ranchers weaning calves this fall.
