A University of Minnesota Extension publication, Cropland Rental Rates for Minnesota Counties, shows farmland rents declined an average of 7.5 percent statewide from 2015 to 2019. Counties in east central Minnesota saw a 21 percent increase over that time frame, while the south central part of the state showed a nine percent decline. Land rents in northwestern Minnesota held fairly steady, showing a point two percent decline from 2015 to 2019.
