This was the last year of showing hogs and sheep in 4-H for Comstock, Minnesota native Nate Rehder. “We’ve been showing at some area jackpot shows and everywhere we can,” he says. “It just stinks to miss the state fair. At the end of the year, the Minnesota State Fair is the one you want to do the best at and we don’t get to go.” Rehder attributes what he’s learned about livestock from 4-H. He is attending South Dakota State University pursuing a degree in animal science. “Following graduation, I’d possibly like to attend auctioneering school. I don’t know what I’d do for a career if I didn’t have my beginnings in livestock.” Hear more in this Parade of Champions.
