The U.S. economy is being challenged with the unknowns of the coronavirus. However, INTL FC Stone Chief Commodities Economist Arlan Suderman says there is some encouraging data. “We could peak on hospital resources required as well as the daily death rate as the Easter holiday wraps up, but some individual states aren’t expected to peak for another couple of weeks or more,” says Suderman. “Nationally, we’re peaking and that gives us some hope we could start to get back to work in May. That would mean more people driving their cars, using gasoline and that means using ethanol. That would help the agriculture economy.”
