Standard Grain President Joe Vaclavik says the corn market is acting unusual. “This is an odd setup for what we’re told is a well supplied market. There’s no or very little carry in the market. When you get a market with no curve, that usually tells you there’s something going on supply-wise. We’re maybe tighter than normal,” says Vaclavik. “We could get some follow through in the markets with the right piece of news.” Vaclavik also says there are rumors floating around that China is looking for corn. “We have seen China buy sorghum. There was a real big purchase last week. We’ll be watching for confirmed corn purchases.”
