Former Hitchcock-Tulare South Dakota FFA member Angie Bushong credits the FFA to helping her develop core leadership skills, including communications. “Extemporaneous speaking taught me to be uncomfortable. I think that is so important when you enter the workforce. A comfort zone is a great thing, but nothing ever grows there.” Bushong works for Nutrien Ag Solutions as a regional recruiter and sales trainer. “That would be my advice to a current FFA member: put yourself out there and appreciate all of the opportunities FFA gives you. As young adults, sometimes you don’t know what you don’t know.” Hear the story.
