Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau acknowledges his efforts to negotiate an end to the rail blockades have not been successful. Trudeau did say measures are being taken to make sure critical items, like propane and essential agricultural products, are addressed. Environmental and indigenous-rights activists have shut down rail traffic in many parts of Canada to protest a new pipeline project in British Columbia.
