The general Conservation Reserve Program sign-up period expires this Friday. North Dakota Farm Service Agency program director Wanda Braton says this is a highly competitive signup process. “The offers are based on the specific location of where they’re looking to enroll those acres,” said Braton. “Producers will enter into a ten-to-15 year contract in which they’ll receive annual rental payments.” The scoring for this program is based on several environmental factors.
