The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association policy priority list is focused on implementing and protecting regulatory reform gains. With the WOTUS replacement rule being rolled out, NCBA Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says the new rule has specific exclusions for agriculture. “Farm and stock ponds and most farm ditches are now excluded,” says Yager. “Features that only convey water because of rainfall or a snow event are also out of federal regulation.” Another focus is on climate change policy. Yager says NCBA continues to oppose the Green New Deal and other climate policies that negatively impact cattle producers. Hear more in this RRFN interview.
